About Lydia
Welcome! I'm Lydia, a senior communications & marketing strategist with nearly two decades of experience.
Originally from the Washington DC area, my passion for exploration and making an impact has shaped my career—and life. I've spent much of my professional journey living abroad, working with international teams within the technology, environment, and education sectors. From agencies and startups to Fortune 500 companies, I’ve worked across marketing, communications, and branding, gaining a unique ability to align these areas and drive real-world results
It all started at a boutique PR firm in DC, where I found myself pitching to international media outlets and advocating for causes like environmental sustainability and human rights. My desire to do communications for good was clear, but it was a Fulbright Scholarship that sparked a new chapter. This experience took me to Germany for what I thought would be a 10-month stay teaching English. Instead, it evolved into a decade-long adventure that changed everything. Teaching was rewarding, but I missed the thrill of my communications work. I was itching to jump back in, gain new skills and build more effective, streamlined strategies.
There were times where I nearly gave up—frustrated by inefficient systems, mountains of busywork, and teams that failed to harmonize creativity with productivity. But this frustration fueled my determination to push further, leading to my MBA degree in international marketing. I knew that if I could bridge the silos between marketing, sales, and operations, I could help companies truly connect with their audiences for greater impact. Along the way, I discovered my talent for bringing authenticity and humanity to brands, particularly those in technical or traditionally “unexciting” industries, helping them resonate with broader audiences.
One of my proudest achievements was at Red Hat, where I took on the challenge of growing their social media presence across Europe, the Middle East, and Africa, and eventually rolled out an employee advocacy program that continues to serve as a best practice and industry benchmark. This success sparked something within me—an urge to take things further, step out of my comfort zone, and finally fulfill a lifelong dream: to work for myself.
Today, I bring my entrepreneurial spirit and vivid imagination to every project, transforming inefficient efforts into powerful, results-driven campaigns. Whether you need to revitalize your brand, coach senior executives on their digital presence, or craft a multi-channel communications strategy, I’m here to help you connect with your audience in a way that feels authentic and has impact.
